vacuum cleaner

About a week after Christmas, mom wasn't feeling well so I decided to hop over to her place to help take down all the Christmas decorations. I figured it was the least I could do, although she insisted that she would take care of everything once she started feeling better. After all that she's done for me in my lifetime, I told her that she should worry about getting better and not about taking care of the house because I would do it all.

I pulled out the vacuum first, because I figured since she had not been feeling well that the house hadn't been done since Christmas and knew that was the kind of thing that really bothered mom. When I pulled out the vacuum cleaner, I could see that the bag needed changing, so I asked mom where she kept the spare vacuum cleaner bags and she directed me to the exact spot. Once that was done, I plugged in the vacuum cleaner and proceeded to the living room where just the day before the Christmas tree had been standing. Did I mention it was a real tree? I'd helped dad take all the decorations down the day before and get them packed away, but obviously dad had taken the tree out the evening before and as you can guess; he didn't run the vacuum cleaner or sweep.

Needless to say, I knew the vacuum cleaner was going to get a work out with all those pine needles, but that's what a vacuum cleaner is for right? Oh something else I may have failed to mention is that mom's vacuum was 25 years old. I say that in past tense because as I was vacuuming the pine needles the vacuum cleaner started making a horrible noise. I figured it was the age of the machine, but mom ran into the living room and asked what happened. I explained that I was vacuuming up the pine needles and it started acting crazy. It was then that mom informed me that she didn't think a vacuum cleaner should be used for pine needles from the Christmas tree.

To make a long story short- the vacuum had passed away and it was time for a new one, so I went online and ordered Hoover Duros Vacuum Cleaner that I found at Lucia's Store whose online store can be found by visiting www.luciasstore.com. Mom says it was the pine needles that caused the demise of her vacuum cleaner, and I say it was old age. Something tells me she won't let me near the new one when it arrives.
