Rival Turkey Roaster a Very Handy Kitchen Small Appliance |

Our oven's heating element bit the dust in September but today when I was looking online, I found a great alternative to having a built-in oven. I like kitchen small appliances, and found this turkey roaster that will work for our limited need to have a working oven in the house. Our microwave has a convection oven and grill function, so we won't be without cakes and cookies and we have three solar ovens we use in the backyard, so this Rival 18qt Roaster w Bonus is really all we need for roasting our Thanksgiving and Christmas Day turkey.
Actually, having this 18 quart roaster as part of our kitchen small appliances is advantageous for cooking large, holiday meals. The bonus that this cooker comes with is a set of three pans that different food can be placed into and held warm for the serving line. The turkey always comes out to rest and be carved, so while it's resting, we'll keep the potatoes, dressing, and gravy warm. This is something like other kitchen small appliances like crock pots, but on this turkey cooker, the temperature is variable. Another nice aspect of this kitchen small appliance is that I can just put the whole turkey carcass in it after dinner is over to make a delicious turkey broth for soup. Normally I'd have to really work hard to break the carcass apart to fit in the soup pot.
The inside of this kitchen small appliance is removable and it's made from enamel covered stainless steel. My nonstick cookware days are over since research proves that the material leaches into food and that stainless steel and enamel are the safest ways to cook. My solar cooking pans are all enamelware and they are so easy to clean and I imagine this kitchen small appliance will be the same, too.
We're really looking forward to the holidays and cooking up a storm. If it's sunny, I'll do most of the baking outside using free sunshine, but normally it's cloudy and windy that time of year, so this new kitchen small appliance will come in really handy. I got it for a great price, too, at Lucia's Store located at http://www.luciasstore.com. It is about 25% less than having someone come in to fix the oven. Actually, with its pull out shelves, our oven seems like it will make a great pantry and the new turkey roaster a good way to cook our roasts, turkeys, and chickens. We are trying to cut our carbon footprint with kitchen small appliances instead of the big ones, so when our oven stopped working, we were not upset and now that this turkey roaster is on the way, I'm getting really excited about cooking for the holidays. |
