Grinder as a Kitchen Small Appliance Great for Us and Pets |

I found this really neat meat grinder online and promptly ordered it. I've discovered that my cats like homemade food a lot more than they like the canned or dry versions, and actually it's a whole lot cheaper to make at home using a kitchen small appliance like this. I can buy the necessary enzymes that are found in cat food like taurine online, too, so this kitchen small appliance works out great for for our feline family.
Someone gave us the present of an adorable American Curl kitten who was raised on home made cat food, which is what got me looking around for a small meat grinder so I could pulverize chicken and mix in some of the few vegetables that are good for cats like carrots and spinach. I usually bake the chicken because the skin caramelizes and that adds so much flavor. Then I remove the bones and toss everything else in the kitchen small appliance which lets me make a nice chicken stew for the cats. Lastly, I add the required amount of enzymes and then form the cat food into meal sized packets and freeze it.
This kitchen small appliance is called the #5 Meat Grinder. Model - 82-0102-W and it does a really nice job. It is so simple to make the cat food now and the cats love it. Instead of paying almost $1 for a six ounce can, I can wait for a sale on chicken things for $1 a pound, so it's a significant savings on cat food and the cats are actually better off eating real food than the commercially produced cat food that contains strange meat byproducts.
I found this dandy meat grinder at Lucia's Store located at http://www.luciasstore.com/. This store has a lot of good products for home decorating and also a number of kitchen small appliances, too. I was glad to find the grinder to make the cat food. Prior to getting it, I'd been chopping the meat and vegetables and it was pretty time consuming. Now with the grinder, it's a snap to make a week's worth of healthy, inexpensive cat food that our pets just devour.
Another benefit of having a kitchen small appliance like this is that I can also make our own sausage. We have a low fat diet but love sausages, and I've tried many recipes for healthy sausages that we all love. Best of all, none of our foods contain nitrates, and the pet food is also completely free of preservatives and other questionable ingredients. It's worth the short time it takes to make healthy food for both us and the pets. |
